Pros

  • Incredible value for the money
  • Great Sensor
  • Image stabilization
  • Fantastic Zoom

Cons

  • No built-in Wifi

The VIXIA HF R700 has been all set to be released this year and to help you decide if this camcorder really is worth it, I am here to offer a helping hand. First of all, I like how compact and handy this new Vixia model is. It makes it easy for me to carry around and to take it out whenever needed. The R700 also makes it very easy to capture and to make recordings of different kinds of subjects with great clarity and professional quality.

It has a powerful processor, an incredible zoom option and a full 1080p/60p recording capability. It is packed with a lot of awesome features that anyone who loves taking pictures and recording videos will surely go crazy over. At a recommended price of under $300, it really is a steal. However, if you currently own the HF R600 you should think about upgrading twice since there are no major improvements compared to the previous model.

Canon 3.28 MP Full High Definition Image Sensor

This high quality image sensor that Canon incorporated with VIXIA HF R700 allows you to capture high definition videos with a 1920 x 1080 resolution. Because of the image sensor, this camcorder also has quite a powerful sensitivity so that the videos that you shoot will have a theater-like quality with natural color themes even if the lighting on the scene is not really that good. The on chip noise reduction feature of the R700 is also another favorite because it assures a natural clarity.

DIGIC DV 4 Image Processor

Aside from the full high definition image sensor, the powerful image processor equipped into the camcorder will also do its part into making sure that you are not disappointed with the quality of still images and videos that you capture using the R700. Whether it is in day setting or in dark scenes, the camcorder does extremely well.

This image processor will also allow you to record both in MP4, the universal file format that is widely used in the internet or AVCHD, the format that is recommended to use for high definition video.

Video Review

Image Stabilization

This feature will assure that you get steady shots even if you are on the go because who doesn’t hate it when their perfectly good video is ruined by bumpy shots and shaky hands? This will provide proper balance correction for you to get a quality shot without much effort or a tripod.

Powerful Zoom

With the 57x zoom of Canon VIXIA HF R700, you no longer have to miss any action even if you shoot from a distance. This feature will allow you to take videos of different dynamics without having to disrupt you subject/s by getting too close. The subject will also stay focused and clear even when you zoom in or out of it at fast rate.
